Mastering with Simon

What I offer....

When you submit a track for mastering, you can expect a quick turnaround, usually in a couple of days.  For an album, the time may be longer, but will be agreed with the client.

I will master your track and deliver it back to you for approval.  If you decide you want to make some changes to the mastering, let me know and these will be done as part of the track price

More than one set of changes will require an additional payment.

Once you are happy, you make payment and I deliver the final files to you.

I can deliver the master back to you in multiple formats:

  • WAV file at original resolution as in the mix
  • WAV file at 441k 16-bit resolution  (CD / Streaming quality)
  • WAV file at 441k 24-bit
  • MP3 or FLAC file (compressed formats)

# If the project involves multiple tracks, i.e. an album, these will be edited into the right sequence before client approval.

  • DDP Image file – an album data file used for CD production.
  • WAV files compiled into album sequence.
  • Physical Reference CD - audio CD burned from the album master project.

# If your project does not fit into the above categories, please get in touch to discuss it.

FAQs

How do I send my audio to you for mastering?

You can send me the files via www.wetransfer.com or another, similar site.

Use the email: simon@simongibsonmastering.com to deliver the audio.

What are ISRC codes and where do I obtain them?

The ISRC (International Standard Recording Code) is the international identification system for recordings.  Each ISRC is a unique and permanent identifier for a specific recording which can be encoded into a product as its digital fingerprint.  Encoded ISRCs provide the means to automatically identify recordings for royalty payments.

See: www.ppluk.com    and    www.ifpi.org

What is the maximum amount of audio I can fit on a CD?

The maximum safe length for a CD is 79’58”, although some companies have produced longer CDs.  The problems come for the consumer, where some players refuse to play over-length CDs.
